Who We Are
We are a 501 C 3 charitable organization. Our mission statement describes our goals but we think who we are is equally as important.
We are a family of five - three girls, a mother and a father. We have a pretty normal existence. My husband is a firefighter and I work in sales. To the outside world what makes us different is our middle daughter, Caroline, who is three and has Down Syndrome. To us, and those who know her, it is just a physical characteristic. It makes her no different than her older sister’s brown eyes make her different from her baby sister’s blue eyes.
We want you to know us. We want you to know that we aren’t that different. To know that we have good days and bad, but very few of either have anything to do with Down Syndrome. We want you understand that we don’t view Caroline’s Down Syndrome as something that has closed doors for her but rather opened up so many for her and our family. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be writing this right now.
